Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Jeremy Blanco-Rios and Deandre Higgs Lead Thornton to Victory

Thornton's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They strolled past the Westinghouse Warriors with points to spare, taking the game 55-36.

Thornton was led to victory by Deandre Higgs and Jeremy Blanco-Rios. Higgs dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten boards, while Blanco-Rios went 5 of 10 on his way to 14 points and eight rebounds. Blanco-Rios is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of DaShawn Fourte, who posted eight points.

Thornton's record now sits at 3-7. As for Westinghouse, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.

Thornton won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Thornton Fractional South at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Westinghouse, they will challenge Francis W. Parker at 11:00 a.m. on January 4, 2025.
