Football Recap: Tom Bean Tomcats vs. Cumby Trojans
Tom Bean had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They took down the Cumby Trojans 49-30. The Tomcats pushed the score to 42-14 by the end of the third, a deficit the Trojans cut but never quite recovered from.
Donnie Hooten had a dynamite game for Tom Bean, throwing for 258 yards and four touchdowns while completing 78.6% of his passes, and also punching in a touchdown on the ground. Hooten also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making two total tackles and defending two passes. Bobby Rogers helped Hooten out on the ground, rushing for 71 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries.
Tom Bean will take on Chisum at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Cumby, they will face off against Union Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
