Softball Recap: St. Bernard Find Success

While St. Bernard's victory against Plainfield wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Saints skirted past the Panthers 7-5. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 15, 2021, but that streak is no more.

The team relied heavily on Lena Byers, who went 4-for-5 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Madison Scribner was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

St. Bernard now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Plainfield, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Bernard will take on Notre Dame Prep at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Plainfield, they will square off against Montville at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
