Volleyball Game Preview: Irvine Vaqueros vs. Sage Hill Lightning

The Irvine Vaqueros will head out to take on the Sage Hill Lightning at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Last Friday, Irvine came up short against St. Margaret's and fell 3-1. The Vaqueros have struggled against the Tartans recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 25-27, 25-16, 25-15.

Meanwhile, Sage Hill didn't have quite enough to beat University on Friday and fell 3-2.

Irvine's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Sage Hill, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.

Irvine beat Sage Hill 3-1 in their previous meeting back in February. The rematch might be a little tougher for Irvine since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
