Baseball Recap: Tascosa Takes a Loss

Tascosa was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Lubbock-Cooper Pirates. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Rebels have suffered since May 4, 2024.

Tascosa's loss dropped their record down to 15-11. As for Lubbock-Cooper, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 16 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-10 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Tascosa will face off against rival Palo Duro at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Lubbock-Cooper is set to take on their familiar foe Monterey at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in the Pirates' favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while the Plainsmen have been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
