Softball Recap: Walkertown Continues Home Dominance on Friday

Walkertown never let their opponents score on Friday. They didn't even let the North Forsyth Vikings on the board, marking Walkertown's second-straight 16-0 shutout. The win continues a trend for the Wolfpack in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now won five in a row.

Not much got past Macy Miller, who gave up just a hit and racked up eight Ks to keep North Forsyth off the board. Miller has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Savannah Miller was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Taylor Isley, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

Miller wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Walkertown lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Walkertown's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for North Forsyth, they are on an 18-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Walkertown is set to square off against their familiar foe McMichael at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Walkertown 1.9, McMichael 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, North Forsyth will face off against rival West Stokes at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
