Baseball Game Preview: St. Joseph Christian Lions vs. Plattsburg Tigers

The St. Joseph Christian Lions will head out to challenge the Plattsburg Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. St. Joseph Christian will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.

St. Joseph Christian came out on top against South Holt on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run third inning. The Lions put the hurt on the Knights with a sharp 8-1 win. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 contests by seven runs or more this season.

Plattsburg not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 11th (when they won 10-0). They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over Penney. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Hornets recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

St. Joseph Christian pushed their record up to 21-4 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Plattsburg, their win bumped their record up to 16-20.

St. Joseph Christian was able to grind out a solid victory over Plattsburg when the teams last played on Tuesday, winning 5-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
