The Bayfield Wolverines had to kick off their season on the road on Wednesday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top against Non Varsity Opponent by a score of 29-18. For Bayfield, this counts as revenge for the 59-24 defeat Non Varsity Opponent walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.
Bayfield was led to victory by Genesis Barrera and Renae Foutz. Barrera scored 11 points along with 6 rebounds, while Foutz scored 11 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals.
Bayfield's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Non Varsity Opponent, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost 26 of their last 30 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-35 record this season.
