Basketball Recap: Morgan Township Cherokees vs. Knox Redskins
Morgan Township fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They took their contest on Saturday with ease, bagging a 56-26 win over the Knox Redskins. This was payback for the Cherokees, who suffered a 58-54 loss the last time these two teams met.

Morgan Township found their leader in sophomore Cal Lemmons, who went 8 of 10 on his way to 21 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lemmons has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jett Gheaja, who posted six points and three steals.
Morgan Township was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Knox only posted six assists.
When it comes to explaining why Knox lost, don't look at Cain Weber. Despite the final result, he went 5 of 9 on his way to 15 points and eight rebounds. The dominant performance gave Weber a new career-high in points.
Morgan Township's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-7. As for Knox, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.
Morgan Township will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Washington Township at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Knox, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 64-29 defeat against Plymouth on the 27th.
