Volleyball Recap: Mechanicsburg Takes a Loss

Mechanicsburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Urbana Hillclimbers. The Indians were not able to make up for their loss to the Hillclimbers from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

While Mechanicsburg ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 20 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 24-26, 25-22, 25-20.

Lexi Poland paced Mechanicsburg's offense, picking up ten kills. Poland got some help from Sydnee Hurst and her 24 assists.

Mechanicsburg's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Urbana, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mechanicsburg will face off against Catholic Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Urbana, they will venture away from home to square off against Bellefontaine at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
