Basketball Game Preview: South Eugene Axe vs. Sheldon Irish

The South Eugene Axe will challenge the Sheldon Irish at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Last Friday, South Eugene was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 48-47 to South Medford. The Axe haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

Meanwhile, Sheldon waltzed into their match on Thursday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They put the hurt on the Indians with a sharp 71-46 victory.

Sheldon pushed their record up to 12-5 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.5 points per game. As for South Eugene, their loss dropped their record down to 10-6.

South Eugene didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Sheldon when the teams last played back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 60-56 victory. Does South Eugene have another victory up their sleeve, or will Sheldon turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
