Softball Recap: Eight Straight Home Wins for West End

There's no place like home for West End, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They walked away with an 8-4 victory over the Sand Rock Wildcats on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Patriots in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won seven in a row.

Braylee King spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on ten hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 17 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, West End got a massive performance out of Kennedi Nix, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Falkner, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI.

West End's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-10. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Sand Rock, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-27.

West End has already played their next game, a 15-1 victory against North Sand Mountain on the 6th. Sand Rock does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
