Baseball Recap: Shadow Mountain Comes Up Short

If Shadow Mountain was riding high fresh off their 15-3 takedown of Moon Valley on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Matadors took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Thunderbird Titans on Monday. The loss continues a trend for the Matadors in their meetings with the Titans: they've now lost five in a row.

Shadow Mountain saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jack Zauner, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Shadow Mountain's defeat dropped their record down to 9-13-1. As for Thunderbird, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 15-9.

While Shadow Mountain had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
