Football Recap: Bridge City Victorious + How To Watch

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Bridge City walked away with it. They pulled ahead with a 28-27 photo finish over the Navasota Rattlers on Friday. The victory was familiar territory for the Cardinals, who have now won four games in a row.

Abraham Munguia produced another solid performance rushing for 93 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries, while also picking up 60 receiving yards and one TD. Ashton Sumrall helped out on the ground, rushing for 91 yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Bridge City was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 263 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Navasota lost, don't look at Jace Jablonski. Despite the final result, he threw for 263 yards and four TDs. Caysien Douglas was Jablonski's top target, picking up 44 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Bridge City's record now sits at 11-1. As for Navasota, their loss dropped their record down to 8-4.

Bridge City wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 34-0 defeat against Kilgore on the 28th. Navasota does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
