Basketball Recap: Village Academy Takes a Loss

Village Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 35th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against the FAU High Owls, falling 88-20. The Tigers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-8.

Jarret Mauvais was his usual excellent self, going 19 for 44 en route to 50 points for FAU High. Mauvais' evening made it 12 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Reza Zilouchain was another key player, going 5 of 12 on his way to 10 points.

Village Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-13. As for FAU High, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-5.

Village Academy will head out to square off against Sheridan Hills Christian at 7:00 p.m. on January 31st. As for FAU High, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when the FAU High Owls face off against the Abundant Life Christian Academy Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. FAU High knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Abundant Life Christian Academy likes a good challenge.
