While Puckett's victory against Florence wasn't quite the blowout they won the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Puckett Wolves narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Florence Eagles 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wolves have posted since April 27, 2024.

Brooke Shivers was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Avery Mohr was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base.

Puckett has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. Florence is on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Coming up, Puckett will be taking part in a tournament against North Pike at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Florence, they will head out on the road to challenge Loyd Star at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
