Softball Recap: Danvers Find Success

It was a Battle of the Birds when Danvers took on Essex North Shore Agric & Tech School on Friday. The Falcons narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Hawks 6-5. The win continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Hawks: they've now won three in a row.

Lila Flynn was excellent, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Giana Cash was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Danvers now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Essex North Shore Agric & Tech School, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Danvers will head out to square off against Winthrop at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Falcons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Vikings have averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season. As for Essex North Shore Agric & Tech School, they will take on Georgetown at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
