Baseball Game Preview: Teague Lions vs. Fairfield Eagles

Teague hasn't had much luck against Fairfield recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. Teague will host Fairfield at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Teague comes in on three and Fairfield on eight.

On Friday, Teague beat Mexia 8-3.

Bo Bowers spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up ten Ks. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Caden Crutcher, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Trip Egbert was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Fairfield ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Groesbeck 5-4.

Fairfield's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Teague, their victory bumped their record up to 9-4.
