Basketball Preview: Dalton Catamounts vs. Cass Colonels
The Dalton Catamounts's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Cass Colonels at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
A well-balanced attack led Dalton over the Hurricanes in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. Dalton enjoyed a cozy 66-51 win over the Hurricanes. That's two games straight that Dalton has won by exactly 15 points.
Dalton's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was CJ Weaver, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Weaver has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Drew Snyder, who scored 21 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, even though Calhoun scored an imposing 57 points on Tuesday, Cass still came out on top. Cass skirted past the Yellow Jackets 60-57.
Dalton pushed their record up to 10-12 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.7 points per game. As for Cass, their win bumped their record up to 6-12.
Dalton beat the Colonels 51-41 when the teams last played two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for Dalton since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
