Volleyball Recap: Hiawatha Takes a Loss

Hiawatha lost against Riley County back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Red Hawks took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Falcons. The Red Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Hiawatha was not able to win a set, but it sure wasn't from a lack of trying: every set was decided by three points or less. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-23.

Kylie Nelson paced Hiawatha's offense, picking up six kills. Nelson got some help from Adison Williams and her 18 assists.

Hiawatha's defeat dropped their record down to 8-18. As for Riley County, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-5.

Coming up, Hiawatha will face off against Sabetha at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Riley County, they will venture away from home to challenge Wamego at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
