Kyle May Sets Career High in Rushing Yards
Starting off the list is Liberty Hill's Kyle May, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. On Friday May rushed for 221 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.1 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 56 yards.
The victory (which was Liberty Hill's fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-1. May and Liberty Hill will square off against Pflugerville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Bryce Muchaw Turns in Season-Best Effort
On Friday, Liberty Hill got the W thanks in part to Bryce Muchaw playing the best football he has all season. Muchaw rushed for 276 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 15.3 yards per carry. The performance once again pushed his average rushing yardage north of 100 yards per game (121.5). He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 89-yard run.
On the season, Muchaw has run in 7 touchdowns while averaging 121.5 rushing yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he was only averaging three rushing yards per game.

Weston Nielsen Crosses Big Stat Threshold
On Friday, Bastrop got the W thanks in part to Weston Nielsen playing the best football he has all season. Nielsen threw for 375 yards and six touchdowns while completing 77.8% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Thanks to that strong showing, he's now averaging 3.3 passing touchdowns per game.
The win (which was Bastrop's third in a row) raised their record to 4-2. Nielsen and Bastrop will head out on the road to face off against Navarro at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Taylor Came Up Big in Pflugerville's 52-14 Victory
Winning always takes teamwork, but on Thursday Cole Taylor stepped things up a notch to give Pflugerville the 'W'. Taylor turned in nothing short of a gem, throwing for 323 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 14.7 yards per attempt, and also punching in two touchdowns on the ground.
Pflugerville pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Taylor and Pflugerville will challenge Liberty Hill at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Zaire Nuells Delivers Best Performance of Season
On Friday, Elgin had to settle for second even though Zaire Nuells put up the best numbers he has all season. Nuells rushed for 96 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries, and also picked up 119 receiving yards and a touchdown, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 55 yards.
Elgin's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. A feisty cat fight will be fought when Wildcats dukes it out withCrockett at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
