Volleyball Recap: Oberlin Phoenix vs. Firelands Falcons

Oberlin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat. They came up short against the Firelands Falcons, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in August.

The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-6, 25-17.

Joanna Tatum paced Oberlin's offense, picking up three kills. Tatum got some help from Lucinda Ulichney and her five assists.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Firelands to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lexi Schrader, who had 21 assists and nine digs. That's the most assists Schrader has posted since back in October of 2024. Everliegh Robinson was another key player, getting six kills, five aces, and four digs.

Oberlin's loss dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Firelands, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.

Oberlin has already played their next match, a 3-1 win against Keystone on the 25th. As for Firelands, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Wellington on the 25th.
