Basketball Recap: James F. Byrnes Rebels vs. Dorman Cavaliers

The James F. Byrnes Rebels had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.6 points), and they went ahead and made it ten on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 56-53 victory over Dorman. That result was just more of the same for these two, as James F. Byrnes also won the last time the pair played back in January.

James F. Byrnes' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Will Fowler, who scored 22 points along with five assists and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Enos, who scored 17 points.

James F. Byrnes is on a roll lately: they've won 17 of their last 18 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season. As for Dorman, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-7.

Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Gaffney the next time they take the court. Dorman will host Gaffney at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while James F. Byrnes will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
