Dunbar fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against King on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the King Jaguars by a score of 70-67. The Mightymen's defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

King got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Matthew Chatman out in front who made all 6 shots he took racking up 13 points. Those 13 points gave Chatman a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Thomas, who went 6 of 7 on his way to 12 points.

Dunbar's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 14-6. As for King, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-7.

Dunbar and King should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. Dunbar will challenge Hubbard at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday up 367 places (355 vs. 722). Meanwhile, King (ranked 274th) will meet Longwood (ranked 566th) at 5:00 p.m. on January 28th.
