Baseball Recap: Covenant Christian Takes a Loss

Covenant Christian dropped their record down to 13-8 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They fell just short of the Cathedral Fighting Irish by a score of 2-0. The match marked the first time this season in which the Warriors were not able to get on the board.

Covenant Christian saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Henry Boyce, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

As for Cathedral, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games.

On Cathedral's side, they got a great performance from Ethan Dorsey as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Dorsey has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

Covenant Christian wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 10-2 victory against Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter on the 15th. As for Cathedral, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 6-2 loss against Lake Central on the 16th.
