After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Granada Hills Charter, Birmingham was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They came out on top against the Chavez Eagles by a score of 6-2. The win continues a trend for the Patriots in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won three in a row.

Annabella Venegas spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits.

On the hitting side, Birmingham's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jasmine Martinez, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs.

Birmingham's record is now 5-8. As for Chavez, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-10.

Looking ahead, Birmingham will welcome El Camino Real at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Patriots' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Royals have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season. As for Chavez, they will venture away from home to challenge West Ranch at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
