Taylor and Indian Hill are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2017, but likely not for long. The Yellowjackets will challenge the Braves at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Taylor hasn't scored more than two runs for three games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse.
On Saturday, Taylor came up short against Reading and fell 6-2.
Taylor saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Josh Paff, who went 1-for-3 with one run.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Indian Hill). They never let Finneytown get on the board and left with a 25-0 win on Monday. Considering the Braves have won six matchups by more than nine runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Noah Coffman made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Devlan Daniel was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and five RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Ashton Graham was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Indian Hill hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Finneytown struck out six times.
Indian Hill's record now sits at 7-5. As for Taylor, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9.
Taylor suffered a grim 16-3 defeat to Indian Hill in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Yellowjackets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
