Basketball Recap: St. Mary's Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

St. Mary won the last time they faced Friends and things went their way on Wednesday too. The St. Mary's Saints came out on top against the Friends Quakers by a score of 51-44. Given the Saints' advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 78th, while the Quakers are ranked 219th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

St. Mary's is also on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 12-10 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.3 points per game. As for Friends, their loss was their tenth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-15.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Mary's will host Concordia Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Friends, they will welcome Coppin Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
