Preview: Aiken Falcons vs. Taft Senators
Aiken is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Taft is on a five-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Aiken Falcons will take on the Taft Senators at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Aiken's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 11 games.
Even though Western Hills scored an imposing 69 points on Friday, Aiken still came out on top. Aiken took their contest against Western Hills 79-69.
Aiken can attribute much of their success to Jaiden Arnold, who scored 30 points along with eight assists and four steals, and James Burnett, who scored 37 points along with eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Burnett has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Taft didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Withrow on Friday, but they still walked away with a 54-49 win. Given Taft's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 101st, while Withrow is ranked 368th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Aiken has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. As for Taft, their win bumped their record up to 13-8.
Aiken didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Taft in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 79-73 victory. Does Aiken have another victory up their sleeve, or will Taft turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
