Softball Recap: Jay's Loss Ends Seven-Game Winning Streak at Home

Jay dropped their record down to 19-2 on Monday, which also ended the team's seven-game streak of wins at home. They fell just short of the Pace Patriots by a score of 3-1. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Royals couldn't push the score so high this time.

As for Pace, their victory was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-3. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.2 runs over those games.

For Pace's part, Jay's batters probably weren't too happy with Hannah DeMarcus, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 24 Ks (she gave up five walks). DeMarcus has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts in 18 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Pace's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Emma Hicks, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Jay does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Pace, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Milton on the 23rd.
