Basketball Recap: Bella King's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Whitmire over Mccormick + How To Watch

Whitmire was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the McCormick Chiefs, falling 51-26. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wolverines of the 42-21 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.

Whitmire's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bella King, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklynn Babb, who posted seven points and 12 boards.

Whitmire's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for McCormick, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Coincidentally, Whitmire and McCormick will both be playing Dixie the next time they take the court. The Wolverines will head out to face the Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Chiefs will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
