Soccer Recap: Haines City Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Haines City can now relate to. They fell just short of the Davenport Broncos by a score of 4-3 on Wednesday. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hornets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in November of 2024.

They hit Davenport with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from James Romeus, Diego Hernandez, and Yahir Granados.

This is the second loss in a row for Haines City and nudges their season record down to 4-10. As for Davenport, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-9-1 record.

Haines City does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Davenport, they will face off against George Jenkins at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Davenport will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more goals each matchup than the last.
