Baseball Recap: Williston Red Devils vs. Glades Day Gators

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Williston had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Glades Day Gators and snuck past 6-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for Williston.

Anthony Gardea tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't pitched less than five innings in three consecutive pitching appearances.

On the hitting side, Carter Benton was incredible, going 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Waylon Geiger, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

On Glades Day's side, Marquis Clarke was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with a triple, a run, and an RBI.

Williston's win bumped their record up to 9-18. As for Glades Day, their loss dropped their record down to 15-8.
