Basketball Recap: Sparta Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Sparta was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 52-49 heartbreaker at the hands of the Johnston City Indians.

Despite the loss, Sparta still got an impressive performance from Serenity Richardson, who posted 11 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Liberti Johnson, who scored 11 points.

Sparta's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Johnston City, the win (which was their fifth in a row dating back to last season) raised their record to 2-0.

Sparta will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Marissa/Coulterville at 6:00 p.m. on December 1. As for Johnston City, they have already played their next contest, a 42-32 defeat against Elverado/Zeigler-Royalton on the 18th.
