Basketball Recap: Northgate Comes Up Short

Northgate's last matchup with Lovejoy could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Tuesday. The Vikings were beaten by the Wildcats 66-31. The Vikings' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it 11 in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Northgate lost, don't look at Jada Wells. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten rebounds. That was a full 45.2% of the Vikings' points, marking the fifth time in a row Wells has posted more than a third of the team's points. Morgan Barber was another key player, putting up five points and three steals.

It was another big night for Jabria Lesane, who almost dropped a double-double with 35 points and nine boards for Lovejoy. With that strong performance, Lesane is now averaging an impressive 15.4 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Tori Christian, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and ten rebounds.

Northgate's loss dropped their record down to 3-18. As for Lovejoy, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-11.

Northgate has already played their next game, a 73-33 defeat against Dutchtown on the 6th. As for Lovejoy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 55-52 loss against Newnan on the 6th.
