Football Recap: Riverside Sets Scoring Season-High Against Stanfield

Riverside's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. Everything went their way against the Stanfield Tigers as they made off with a 40-14 victory. The Pirates' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Osmin Barrera was his usual excellent self, rushing for 280 yards and three scores while picking up 12.7 yards per carry. He was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 51 yards.

The win got Riverside back to even at 2-2. As for Stanfield, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Riverside will face off against rival Enterprise at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Stanfield is set to square off against their familiar foe Weston-McEwen at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
