Baseball Recap: Southside Christian Makes It Three in a Row at Home

Southside Christian barely beat Palmetto the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Southside Christian's pitchers stepped up to hand Palmetto a 10-0 shutout on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Sabres, who have now won five games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Southside Christian's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Carson Bolemon, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Another was Matt Cauthen, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Southside Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .450. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.

Southside Christian pushed their record up to 9-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Palmetto, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southside Christian will host Powdersville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Palmetto, they will be playing at home against Pickens at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
