Softball Recap: Redwood Gets the Win

Redwood won the last time they faced Novato and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Giants walked away with a 5-1 win over the Hornets.

Stella Belluomini spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up 11 Ks. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.1 strikeouts per game.

At the plate, Lily Cox was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Those two runs gave her a new career-high.

Redwood hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Novato struck out 11 times.

Redwood's record now sits at 10-5. As for Novato, their record is now 5-11-1.

Looking ahead, Redwood will look to defend their home field on Monday against San Rafael at 4:30 p.m. The Giants' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 9.9 runs per game this season. As for Novato, they will head out to square off against Rancho Cotate at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
