Football Recap: Bobby Williams and Markion Cox Pace South Central Defense + How To Watch

South Central extended their losing streak to five on Friday, dropping them down to 3-5. They came up short against the Jacksonville Cardinals, falling 28-7. If the Falcons were looking for revenge after losing 53-28 to the Cardinals when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

South Central didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Bobby Williams and Markion Cox.

As for Jacksonville, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-0. The result was nothing new for the Cardinals, who have now won four games by 21 points or more so far this season.

Jacksonville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Amari Pearson, who rushed for 172 yards and one touchdown while picking up 10.8 yards per carry. Pearson's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his sixth straight game with at least 100 rushing yards. Another player making a difference was Josiah Benton, who gained 85 total yards.

South Central didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 35-30 victory against White Oak on the 24th. As for Jacksonville, they have also already played their next contest, a 41-24 win against D.H. Conley on the 24th.
