Basketball Recap: Marshfield Comes Up Short

Marshfield was the 52-51 winner over West Plains when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Marshfield Bluejays received a blow on Monday as they fell 64-46 to the West Plains Zizzers.

Leading West Plains to victory were Shaylee Peterson and Zoe Shrubb. Peterson dropped a double-double with 18 points and 16 rebounds, while Shrubb went 6-for-8 from beyond the arc en route to 18 points. The dominant performance gave Peterson a new career-high in boards. Zoe Scharnhorst was another key player, putting up eight points.

Marshfield's defeat dropped their record down to 16-6. As for West Plains, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season.

Coming up, Marshfield will challenge Logan-Rogersville at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for West Plains, they will head out to challenge Carl Junction at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Carl Junction has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with four straight losses, while West Plains will come in with four straight wins.
