Preview: South Mountain Jaguars vs. Sierra Linda Bulldogs
The South Mountain Jaguars will be playing in front of their home fans against the Sierra Linda Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Sierra Linda took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on South Mountain, who comes in off a win.
Last Thursday, South Mountain was able to grind out a solid victory over North Canyon, taking the game 56-47.
Bry'ann Wiley and Julia Abdelsalam were among the main playmakers for South Mountain as the former dropped a double-double on 12 points and 17 rebounds and the latter dropped a double-double on 14 points and 15 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Abdelsalam has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Asia Martin, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Sierra Linda's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They were outmatched by Fairfax at home and fell 63-24. Sierra Linda has struggled against Fairfax recently, as their contest on Monday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
South Mountain's win bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Sierra Linda, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-17 record this season.
South Mountain won a match that couldn't have been any closer in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, slipping by Sierra Linda 37-36. Does South Mountain have another victory up their sleeve, or will Sierra Linda turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
