The Bamberg-Ehrhardt Red Raiders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 28 points or more this season. They took their matchup on the road on Friday with ease, bagging a 86-15 victory over Bridges Prep. Bamberg-Ehrhardt's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Bamberg-Ehrhardt's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mh'Chiya Johnson led the charge by dropping a double-double on 23 points and 15 steals. Those 15 steals set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Raven Brown, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Bridges Prep struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
The victory (which was Bamberg-Ehrhardt's eighth in a row) raised their record to 11-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points per game. As for Bridges Prep, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bamberg-Ehrhardt will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Bethune-Bowman at 6:30 p.m. on January 16th. As for Bridges Prep, they will be playing at home against Branchville at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Branchville comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 14 points in their last six games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
