Baseball Recap: Owensville Beats Linn for Their Third Straight Win

While Owensville's win against Linn wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Dutchmen sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Wildcats on Monday. The win was nothing new for the Dutchmen as they're now sitting on three straight.

Jaden Gerlemann was incredible, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with five stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those five stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jansen Loeb, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Owensville's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-8. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Linn, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season.

Owensville will square off against St. James at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Linn, they will challenge New Bloomfield at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
