Soccer Game Preview: Wood River vs. Mountain Home

The Wood River Wolverines will head out to challenge the Mountain Home Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wood River will be strutting in after a win while Mountain Home will be coming in after a loss.

Wood River's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over Jerome. Wood River haven't had any issues with Jerome recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Monse Gil and Gracie Wallace scored both of Wood River's goals, bringing their combined season tally to ten goals.

Meanwhile, after soaring to seven goals the game before, Mountain Home was a bit more limited in their match on Wednesday. They lost 6-0 to Twin Falls. The defeat continues a trend for Mountain Home in their meetings with Twin Falls: they've now lost three in a row.

Mountain Home's loss dropped their record down to 3-8-2. As for Wood River, their victory bumped their record up to 10-5.

Everything went Wood River's way against Mountain Home when the teams last played back in September, as Wood River made off with a 6-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolverines since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
