Basketball Recap: Gannon Jacobson Key Part of a Team Effort in Trojans Win

Southeast of Saline won the last time they faced Lyons and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Southeast of Saline Trojans walked away with a 67-59 win over the Lyons Lions.

Southeast of Saline's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gannon Jacobson, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. Tanner Schoeder also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Southeast of Saline smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Lyons' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Xavier Solis, who went 6 of 15 on his way to 15 points along with six boards and three blocks. Solis is crushing it when it comes to blocks: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Francisco Espinoza, who went 5 for 11 en route to 11 points and seven assists.

Southeast of Saline is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 3-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.8 points per game. As for Lyons, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.

Southeast of Saline wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 72-63 defeat against Clay Center on the 17th. Lyons has also already played their next matchup, a 53-32 win against Republic County on the 17th.
