Softball Recap: Pinnacle Has No Trouble Against Liberty

Pinnacle never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They blew past the Liberty Lions 6-0. The Pioneers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by six runs or more this season.

The result came thanks to Lilly Hamel's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Torynn Slaughter, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Bri Smith was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Pinnacle is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Liberty, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-10-1.

Coming up, Pinnacle will venture away from home to challenge Corona del Sol at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Liberty, they will host Mountain Ridge at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
