Volleyball Recap: John Paul II Falls Despite Big Games from Ashley Keith and Summer Hodge

It was a proper cat-fight when John Paul II took on Prestonwood Christian on Friday. The Cardinals fell just short of the Lions by a score of 3-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cardinals of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2024.

John Paul II actually scored more points across those five sets (105-104), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 15-25, 25-20, 24-26, 15-12.

John Paul II's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Summer Hodge, who had 32 digs and two assists, and Ashley Keith, who had 16 digs and one assist.

John Paul II now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Prestonwood Christian, the win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

John Paul II wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-2 victory against Rockwall on the 15th. As for Prestonwood Christian, they will welcome Midlothian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
