Preview: McIntosh Chiefs vs. Northside Patriots
The McIntosh Chiefs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Northside Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
McIntosh was not the first on the board two weeks ago, but they got there more often. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Drew 14-12. The win was just what McIntosh needed coming off of a 56-21 defeat in their prior contest.
McIntosh found their leader in underclassman Brandan Ridley, who rushed for 151 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.2 yards per carry.
Meanwhile, Northside can now show off four landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They put the hurt on Drew with a sharp 35-12 victory.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Northside to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jai Jackson, who rushed for 73 yards and two touchdowns. Caden Clay was another key contributor, throwing for 143 yards and a touchdown.
McIntosh's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Northside, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
McIntosh was taken down by Northside 57-14 when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Thankfully for McIntosh, Malachi Hosley (who rushed for 260 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.4 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
