Preview: Cheyenne Wells Tigers vs. Branson/Kim Bearcats

The Cheyenne Wells Tigers will be playing at home against the Branson/Kim Bearcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Even though Genoa-Hugo scored an imposing 38 points on Saturday, Cheyenne Wells still came out on top. Cheyenne Wells claimed a resounding 69-38 win over Genoa-Hugo at home. With Cheyenne Wells ahead 54-24 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Cheyenne Wells got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Perry Chadwick out in front who threw for 166 yards and four touchdowns on only ten passes, and also punched in two touchdowns on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Trey Scheler, who gained 117 total yards and three touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Branson/Kim entered their tilt with La Veta with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. Branson/Kim put the hurt on La Veta with a sharp 80-54 win on Thursday. Yes, you read that score correctly, and yes, they were playing football.

Branson/Kim can attribute much of their success to Brock Doherty, who gained 272 total yards and five touchdowns, and Kolter Cranson, who rushed for 314 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 18.5 yards per carry. Cranson's longest rush was for an incredible 70 yards.

Cheyenne Wells is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 4-5 record this season. As for Branson/Kim, their win was their seventh straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-1.

Keep an eye on the end zone in Friday's game as the pair haven't had much trouble getting there this season. Cheyenne Wells commands a daunting offense this season, having averaged 5.2 touchdowns per game. However, it's not like Branson/Kim struggles in that department as they've been even better at 5.2 per game. With these two high-octane teams facing off on Friday, fans should be in for an exciting offensive matchup.
