Baseball Game Preview: Tyler Knights vs. East Clarendon Wolverines

The Tyler Knights will be taking part in a tournament against the East Clarendon Wolverines at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Tyler and Doddridge County had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Knights lost 9-3 to the Bulldogs on Friday. The Knights have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Tyler saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brayden Neff, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. The Knights are 5-1 when Neff posts two or more runs, but 3-8 otherwise.

Meanwhile, East Clarendon fell victim to West Florence and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They came up short against the Knights, falling 12-0. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Wolverines were not able to get on the board.

East Clarendon's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-6. As for Tyler, they now have a losing record of 8-9.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Tyler has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like East Clarendon struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 5.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
